“Retro” Games to Play in Quarantine

Recently, we have had to go through our stuff and when we were Drew found some of his old games. We decided to sit down and play some of them. (Some of these aren’t really old enough to be retro)

Super Mario Bros/Super Mario Bros 3 – The classics that started it all. A platformer that almost everyone has played and with good reason. One of the reasons Nintendo is such a big company today. It’s fun to try to see how far you can get in one sitting or even getting the whistles (SMB3) or the warp pipes and trying to beat the boss. Sit down with a friend or on your own.

Galaga – Drew and his friends favorite quarter burner. They could sit for hours trying to get the top score on one of the machines. Luckily, you can find galaga on basically anything including Playstation, Xbox, and a few web browsers.

Star Wars Battlefront 2 (2005)  – Decades worth of time is sunk into this game every year. Servers still exist for a game over a decade old. Newer releases cannot even compare to this shooter. Simple controls and endless possibility allows players to explore the whole star wars galaxy.  Become the Empire and crush the Rebellion or become the clones and fight to protect the republic. Drew’s favorite game from childhood.

Mario Kart – A game everyone can get mad about. There’s nothing like being in first place right about to cross the finish line and a blue shell comes from nowhere and you end up finishing in 4th.

Pokemon – One is released every few years so it doesn’t matter which one you are fond of but each is worth playing in there own right. Drew started with Blue and Red on the gameboy and loves the original 151.
